A farmhouse holiday near Grosseto is a nice opportunity to discover and live some old rural traditions, connected to ancient rites of fertility. One of them is celebrated every year, during the month of May and it's called "La Maggiolata". It's a sort of festival of flowers celebrating the beginning of summer, where the country people of Lucignano create parade carts adorned with thousands of flowers and drive them in a long parade through the streets of the little medieval center.
