The typical brick walls surround the historic part of the town and provides it with a romantic and dreaming-like atmosphere.

One of them is celebrated every year, during the month of May and it's called "La Maggiolata". It's a sort of festival of flowers celebrating the beginning of summer, where the country people of Lucignano create parade carts adorned with thousands of flowers and drive them in a long parade through the streets of the little medieval center. During the two-week festivity, Lucignano is animated by several musica bands performing at every corner and in every street. Any farmhouse near Grosseto can offer information about local festivities and renactments. Just ask your landlord!

Lots of factors contribute to the final results in the complex process which is "wine making": sun and wind exposure, soils, the proximity of mountains or sea coasts.
